Africa’s Changemakers unite in East London
East London, Eastern Cape – 7 August 2025 — Africa For Africa Women, in proud partnership
with ABSA and the Department of Social Development, successfully hosted the Transformational
Leadership Summit 2025 (#TLS2025) at the East London International Convention Centre.
The summit brought together a dynamic assembly of women leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs,
and advocates from across Africa, all committed to advancing ethical, inclusive, and sustainable
leadership. Guided by the theme “CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF BEIJING PLATFORM OF
ACTION, GEARING TOWARDS G20 AND REALIZATION OF AGENDA 2063”, the day’s
programme inspired meaningful dialogue, practical strategies, and strengthened partnerships for
lasting impact.
Driving Purposeful Conversations
The summit opened with an atmosphere charged with optimism and the unmistakable warmth of the
Eastern Cape. Delegates engaged in plenary sessions, panel discussions, and fireside chats designed
to spark innovation and foster collaboration.
Channel Africa, a valued long-term partner of Africa For Africa Women, played a key role in
connecting the summit’s vision to a wider audience. Esteemed presenter Sisi Segalo moderated high-
impact conversations with precision and passion, drawing insights on gender equity, intergenerational
mentorship, and accountability in leadership.
“This summit is more than an event — it’s a call to action. Our continent’s progress
depends on leaders who put service above self,”

Tourism Board, who highlighted sustainable tourism’s potential as a catalyst for women’s
empowerment and economic growth.
Leadership coach Pamela Xaba, moderating a thought-provoking panel, reinforced the urgency for
action:
“We must be deliberate in making space for women at every decision-making table —
not tomorrow, not someday, but now.”
Collaboration Across Borders

as a catalyst for new relationships and collaborative opportunities. Attendees from diverse sectors
exchanged ideas, shared best practices, and initiated cross-border partnerships aimed at shaping
Africa’s future.
